About Me

My name is Samantha Sasenarine, and I am a student at Skidmore College studying English and Education Studies. My hometown is the Bronx, New York City, and my family is from Guyana. My pronouns are she/her/hers.

Currently, I've been actively writing for my college newspaper, The Skidmore News. My writing encompasses the stories of people of color and exhibits the social and political climate both on my campus/community and world. Also, I have several writing samples that can be viewed that reflects my creativity, analytical writing, and collaborative work published on the online platform for the North American Victorian Studies Association (COVE collection exhibit) .

My journey with writing started at a very young age and has given me the gift of strengthening my voice, especially with my experiences in a predominantly white institution. Writing has always been a form of art to me, and I want to use it to create a positive impact in the world. I hope to continue learning about myself and others to tell our stories.
